Magellan, penguins, and emptiness

Before the trip, I was just excited to see the penguins. When I was there, I spent most of the time fighting off the relentless wind (and being really, really excited by the penguins). After the trip, these shots reminded me of the desolation of this environment, and just how far away the end of the world is.
